The Vizier consortium consists of nine experienced and committed partners, namely five industrial partners (a large sized enterprise and four SMEs), two research institutes and two end user organizations spread around three different European AAL partner States (Switzerland, Ireland and Belgium). End users and SMEs are both strongly involved with clear exploitation ambitions.

he University of Geneva department Information Science Institute (ISI) has a team of 40 staff members and is active in research, technology watch, and creativity and teaching. UniGe has great experience in working in the areas of Virtual Humans, Dialogue Management, Emotional intelligence, Emotion Recognition, Machine Learning, and also on the area of design, development and deployment of ICT-based solutions. Moreover, UniGe has a long-term experience in working on different topics in the scientific field of “Affective Computing”, a field where behavioural sciences are involved in the development of computational systems. In this field, UniGe has been working on the computational modelling of emotions, personality, decision-making, episodic memory and other psychology and biology inspired components with the purpose of developing human-like behaviour for expressive virtual humans and social robots. It currently participating in more than 15 research projects (EU/Cost/National Swiss funding) in service domains ranging from services innovation and large-scale services to services for seniors and mobile users and from Personality and Emotion Models to 3D serious games.

ounded in 1949. After World War II the organization was set up on a professional basis. The founding mother was the movement of Christian Working Class Women. Until today our organization is associated with the Christian Workers Movement. Today Familiehulp is the biggest home care organization in Flanders and Brussels. In 2003 it developed a division PIT (cleaning, washing and ironing with service vouchers). Familiehulp is a home care organization with a wide range of services: maternity care, ill child care, post-hospitalization care, care for chronically and mentally ill people, night and palliative care, guidance at home for the elderly, repair services and cleaning help. Home care is not a standard package of tasks because it has to be adapted to the specific situation of each client.

VIVA Association


he "Valorizing and Integrating for an Alternative Aging” association is a non-profit association based in Lancy (Switzerland). VIVA is financed by the city of Lancy and it is devoted to promote and enhance knowledge and projects dedicated to favor well-being and active aging in the community. VIVA runs programs promoting prevention, measures for community dwelling and institutionalized seniors, as well as interventions set to enhance the autonomy, dignity, sense of purpose, and identity of the elderly.
